Welcome, new visitors!

(Were you, by chance, searching for "diner games"?)

This site is full of original material for players of table-top role-playing games. Input and collaboration is welcomed! Please read more about the site here. Or just dive in to whatever looks interesting.

A couple of recommendations: GURPS players, check out what's at The GURPS Diner. The house special is GULLIVER, an easy rules expansion for creating and playing odd-sized creatures. To see the lunch, dinner, wine, and kids' menus all at once, peek at the site map. Take your time; the busboy will be along shortly to clear you a place.

Internet Explorer Users:

This site – like wide swaths of the Web – may not display properly with Internet Explorer 6.0 or lower. For your own sake, please upgrade to 7.0 or higher! Or even better, to fully enjoy the Web, try Safari or Firefox.

User logins and other site updates

Site news!

1. User logins are available to all! Become authenticated! Until I get a proper big flashing link up, head here: http://www.gamesdiner.com/user . Registration entails the usual email-based confirmation.

Chief benefits will include the ability to edit your own comments and manage subscriptions (newsletter, threads, etc.). Once I know things are working smoothly, I can slather additional benefits upon authenticated userhood.

2. You are of course heartily welcome to contribute bigger content (articles! reviews! essays!) than just comments - though for now, an escalation in user privilege is required. Easy for me to do; just shoot me a message.

3. Since updgrading to Drupal 5, text input / editing has been the site's bête noire, with every available solution biting users at some point. A recent update to the current editor, however, is looking better. You should see a plain text field by default, with an "enable rich text" link below; that link should provide a few simple, light controls for gussying up your words.

In theory, anyway. If your browser and computer generate another awful experience, please let me know.

4. When commenting/posting, you may (that is, should) see a simple "captcha" challenge, proving that you are indeed a non-spambot human. Even though it's only of the "what's 2 + 5?" nature that won't hinder any dice-lovin' gamer, I hate to toss it upon you, but such are the times we live in. Some of the comments I get otherwise, while possessed of a certain salacious charm, just aren't about gaming, at least not as we know it.

5. Polls are still fried, for some reason not showing results. It's web gremlins, that's what it is. -end-

OpenID login

Submitted by Esteemed Visitor (not verified) on Mon, 2007-04-09 23:16.

Thanks for the work on user logins. However, it's just too much of a burden to maintain yet another account and password for this site.

If possible, please enable login with OpenID http://openid.net/ so that we can have an account here without needing to futz around with passwords.

Thanks for the tip. Some quick studying suggests it's an excellent idea, and also reveals that OpenID support is under development for my CMS.

I'll keep close tabs on the development, and offer it as soon as it's ready. Until then, I won't blame you if you just lurk. : )

Please solve the math problem above and type in the result. e.g. for 1+1, type 2. Sorry, I have to cast Detect Spammer...
